Born in 1947, Michael Stimpson is an English and Irish barrister and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He specialises in all areas of construction law.
In 1972, he was appointed Legal Director to the Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors in London. From 1974 he returned to private practice advising on and acting as advocate in building and civil engineering cases in England, Ireland, Cyprus and elsewhere. In 1999 he moved to Dublin as an advocate and conciliator to the thriving construction industry in Ireland.
As an independent barrister Michael continues to act as advocate in construction and related matters in England, Ireland and overseas.
Michael is an External Tutor to the Department of Construction Law, Kings College, University of London and has been invited to lecture on the Commercial Arbitration Course at University College, Dublin. For many years he gave legal training to engineers in the Water Industry.

Brian qualified as a Solicitor in 1970. After
5 years at Coward Chance in London and Brussels he was called to the Bar in
1976.
He undertakes commercial work including international trade, shipping, banking
and financial services, company law including company acquisitions and warranty
claims, construction, EU, and information technology. In the last few years
he has acquired considerable knowledge of IT systems.
He has drafted Arbitration Rules and appeared as arbitrator and counsel in
several arbitrations. He has considerable experience of arbitration and court
proceedings in other EU jurisdictions.
He speaks fluent French and German, and can read Italian, Dutch, Russian and
Spanish.

Andrew's practice is predominantly at Kings Chambers Manchester in the areas of construction litigation and arbitration including professional negligence actions; the balance is general commercial litigation. He has appeared as counsel in numerous arbitrations over the last ten years. Those arbitrations have lasted from days to weeks and have been presided over by well-known construction arbitrators such as Tony Canham and Michael Needham. Adjudication and mediation is an increasingly large part of his practice. He has published an award as arbitrator in a documents-only arbitration between clients and solicitors. Andrew regularly appears in the TCC on arbitrations and trials. He has sat as an adjudicator and delivered an award, is on the panel of the TECBAR adjudicators and has written articles and lectured on adjudication.

Born in 1967, Karim read law at St Edmund
Hall, Oxford, and completed a doctorate in Islamic Law at Pembroke College,
Cambridge. His main area of practice is general commercial law, including sale of goods, International trade, and shipping law. He also appears in the High Court and County Court on general Chancery matters, including landlord and tenant, easements and adverse possession.
Karim has a particular expertise in Islamic commercial and arbitration laws, Egyptian, Omani and UAE civil laws, and can provide expert opinions in these areas by arrangement. He is also an accredited mediator and a member of ADR Chambers, and undertakes commercial mediations in his areas of practice and expertise.
He is fluent in Arabic and French, with a working knowledge of Spanish, and can accept papers in the languages in which he is fluent.

contractual and commercial matters. She also undertakes pensions, professional
negligence and IT contracts.
She speaks at conferences on reinsurance and insurance and has published articles
